Hello everyone! I wanted to share with you a more personal blog post this week as I knew I just had to celebrate this milestone for both myself and Ash. Every year we have done something fun at our yearly marks and this year has been no different.
3 years ago on the 31st January 2013 I got asked out by the most charming, smartest and funniest guy I have ever known. 2 weeks previous to that we spent most days getting to know each other and as another year passes I re-live the tale in my mind.
From the word go Ash took me for our first date on the London eye. I was still new to living in London having been at University for only 5 months and it was one of the things I had always wanted to do, afterwards we went for a meal at Nando’s – another thing I had never done (coming from a small town) but always wanted to do!
On our 1st year mark we climbed the o2 which was (unsurprisingly) cold being in January and unfortunately on a very wet and windy day but still so much fun and a great team building task too. Afterwards obviously we secured it with yet another Nando’s inside the o2 to make us warm again. It was so much fun and looking back at the photos, I loved this day.
On our 2nd year we went up to experience The View from the Shard near London Bridge and of course we both went right to the top to view the sights! The view from up there is amazing and if you are ever stuck for things to do in London, I would definitely recommend this! You can really see for miles and I would love to experience this at night as well as seeing it in the day. Afterwards we secured the day with a Zizzi’s in Southwark and found this beautiful one right on the river overlooking the Thames. It was a small restaurant but it had a great vibe and I tried Calamari for the first time…yum!
A lot of people are shocked at this but we like to do things our own way and not just because others are doing it (which is a trait that I feel makes us so great as a couple…queue blowing my own trumpet!) Because we had booked this break we decided we would only go for a meal on our special weekend and chose a Mexican restaurant ‘El Chicos’ which is within walking distance of where we live. The food was great and despite the biggest table tab we have probably ever spent (woops!) we loved the food and the vibe the restaurant gave. We also decided this would be a great idea to work out how much of our lives we have spent with each other…almost 10%!
In 2 weeks we are jetting off to Barcelona for 3 nights to celebrate the most recent milestones in our lives and I shall definitely be sharing that with you all as we are both looking forward to it so much!
