Hey ya’ll! Long time, no blog post, BUT as it is a fresh new year and a fresh new start, I thought I would take some time out of this beautiful bank holiday day (and an extra day off work) and spend some time writing up my two challenges that I have set for myself as goals for this year. I am never really into the whole “new year, new me” or new year’s resolution stuff. Mainly because I like to live most days as they come and tackle situations as they occur…spontaneous if you wanna call it that!
You may be quite surprised to hear that one of these challenges is through an app called 1SE (1 second everyday) which describes itself on the app store as a “1 second everyday video diary”. 2016 as a year was quite slow for me. Barcelona was most definitely my highlight of the year (you can see my little trip *here*) but the year in itself didn’t provide any challenges or anything too fun for me. I can’t really complain because 2014 and 2015 were both fantastic years and provided me with so many fun adventures and life changing situations, but, for me, it wasn’t exciting enough.
This app provides me with the ability to film just 1 second of my day everyday for the next 365 days. As I am writing this on the 2nd January I have already filmed both yesterday and today and I hope to be successful in filming the other 363 days left of 2017! At the end I will have a nifty little video of my whole year which I can look back on and hopefully be reminded of all the fantastic day’s I have had, as I am sure there was more to 2016 than I can remember.
The second challenge I have set for myself is the 365 day penny saving challenge. I have seen this on Pinterest on a number of occasions and always thought how amazing the idea is! (Hats off to you, if you invented this challenge and are reading this blog post!) The idea got reminded to me via Hannah Lisa’s Vlogging channel on YouTube. You can view her video on it *here* in case you also want to get involved. The concept of the challenge is to save 1 penny a day every day this year and by Christmas 2017 you will have £667 by December! So for example the first day you will save 1p and then the second day you will save 2p and so forth…amazing right?! That’s basically Christmas paid for and then some! I love the fact this is so easy to do because it is such small amounts at a time you never really see the money leave your bank. If you find it easier you can save it into a piggy bank, but for me it’s easier for me to put it into my online savings account every day until December so I can’t touch it or even be tempted to smash is open!
Besides these challenges I have set for myself I plan to be more spontaneous that I already am. I always say I wanna go running along the beach at sunset or go to a new place in London but never actually do it so this is the year of getting SH*T done!

Happy 2017 beauties! 🙂
