Southbank Winter Festival

Yep you guessed it! I have abandoned my blog AGAIN! I have made it my new years resolution to blog AT LEAST once every two weeks. I find life tends to be very busy now-a-days and finding ‘me time’ to sit down and even watch Vlogs recently has been super difficult – eek sorry!

However, this weekend I promised in my most recent Vlog over on my YouTube  that I would blog about my little planned date day with Ash.

On Saturday 12th December we decided to have a little date afternoon and venture down to one of our favorite events of the year – The Southbank Winter Festival which, again, is sponsored by Natwest this year. IMG_4249IMG_4231We actually came across this last year when we couldn’t get into Winter Wonderland due to the over crowdedness and horrendous queues. We decided to go back again this year as we preferred it to the tourist trap that is – Winter Wonderland. The prices are reasonable for Christmas markets and it’s atmosphere is a lot calmer and more suited to the adult! I love the way that the usual Southbank acts along the Thames are still doing what they do, magicians, statues, Jamaican dancers and circus acts.IMG_4264 There’s nothing more I love than standing along one of my most favourite places in London and grabbing a hot chocolate from our favourite Christmas hut – The Belgian hot chocolate stand. Their hazelnut hot chocolate is to die for and I feel it always looks so festive with it’s stirring stick at this time of the year. I’ve added a little snap of what they look like in this post, because even now, looking backat the photo I could easily have another!

The Christmas lights, pine tree’s, mulled wine & cider, hot chocolate, waffle, crepe and hot dog stands are the perfect combo to get into the festive season and it’s this part of the year that I love – the lead up to Christmas!! 🙂

Where do you go to start the festive season? Do you recommend any hideaways or pop-up’s in London to check out during the month of December?
