Spring has sprung! Or so the saying goes…
Winter can often feel like it leaves our skin/hair feeling dryer than ever before. With the darker nights/mornings and with less Vitamin D radiating down on our skin, I wanted to share with you all a few of the ways in which I get myself prepped for the warmer months ahead.
*For this blog post, I have teamed up with Beauty products UK to bring you a few ideas that will help you feel fresher than ever before!
The warmer months bring plumper and more radiate looking skin and with the sun beating down on us it can also give amazing benefits for your hair too. That being said, it is very important to keep on top of moisterising your skin and making sure you stop your hair from drying out by using the right and carefully selected products.
The Spring Beauty Hacks You Need to Know
Take a salt bath to reduce puffiness
Now I am not talking about sitting in a pool of table salt here, but what I am saying is take a minute to find a good pack of Epsom salts. You can find these in various high street pharmacies, drug stores and chemists and relaxing in a hot bath of this for just 20 minutes a day (preferably at night before you sleep) can withdraw puffiness from the heat that can make our bodies swell. No one wants to feel under-confident in a bikini now do they?!
Invest in a good exfoliating scrub
Getting invested in a skin perfecting scrub can remove dead skin cells from deep pores which will make you feel fresher than ever before! Exfoliating before shaving can also increase blood circulation and stop you from getting in grown hairs. Panasonic provide amazing shavers and trimmers that can help you with this and will also give you a smooth, bump free shave. Perfect for prepping those summer pins!
Stay out of the sun (but still maintain your tan!)
Fake tan is a much better option than allowing the sun to burn your skin. I certainly hate it when I haven’t applied my sun cream enough and I am suffering from burnt/peeling skin in the days following a good soak of the golden rays outside. Now, I know this blog post is focused on Spring – but don’t get caught out because the sun has been known to become hot even in the month of March!
Speed up your hair growth with the right products
Keyword: right. Using the wrong type of products during the warmer months of the year can leave your hair feeling brittle and dry. As a girly girl I am forever blow drying, curling and straightening my hair, but with the wrong products you are actually doing more damage to your hair than the sun itself. Drying your hair with a hair dryer like the Panasonic Nanoe will improve your hairs visible shine, add volume and reduce frizz which can tend to happen from brushing out chlorine or salt water. Pair this with the Panasonic Finish & Flawless Shine straightener and you’ll also be hydrating your hair for a smooth and sleek finish. Sun damage?! What sun damage?!
Keep your mani/pedi looking fresh as daisies
This is a BIG thing for me. I am not about to go outside when the weather gets warmer to only look down and realise my feet look like they’ve been stuck in the same old crusty boots all winter. Sandals and lighter shoes generally means toes out. Pretty toes and fingers to match can flicker a sign of luxury and make you feel 100 times better.
Wear minimal make up
I can never understand how girls can go out with a full face of make up in the warmer months. As a generally sweaty person (ew) I love nothing more than wearing lighter foundations or moisterisers from this time of the year until mid September when the weather starts to get a little cooler.
No one loves the smudged eyeliner/mascara look so get yourself down to a lash extension bar and opt for this instead. It means you can pack in the mascara wand for a few months, save your pennies from buying too much make up you generally won’t use/need, and give yourself a fuller and more natural glow around your eyes.
