Taking Care of Myself – One Step at a Time

Self-care is something I have recently been adding into my daily lifestyle since I made the decision to become self-employed. In other words, you can’t focus on yourself unless you fully indulge in the process of transforming yourself both inside and out (mentally and physically).

As well as being an avid gym goer, I have been trying to take care more of my physical appearance. This unfortunately has taken a major back seat since I have been working full time, and having enough time to even do simple tasks in girl world such as; paint my nails or treat myself to a face mask have become non-existent.

When Temple Spa reach out to me I always jump for joy because I know their products are trustworthy and kind to my skin. Having worked with them before, they were extremely generous enough to gift me more products in their range, which will help me push through the last full-time working life until July. It included a range of face masks, under eye care (que late 20 wrinkles), night cream and a top up of their glorified mascara. Although their products come at a price, they are the best I have ever tried for my type of skin – dry and combination at times. What I like the most about Temple Spa is that they provide videos on their website on how to apply the products before using, so you know how to do it properly. I can hold my hands up in honesty and say that I have, in the past, been terrible for dragging my skin about and not delicately applying products. This can cause redness, soreness, and can make your skin look worse than before you started. So make sure you check out their directions before applying to your skin in order to gain the best results.

The goods

Repose ‘A good night’s sleep in a jar!’
Repose is a relaxing aromatherapy cream for the face and neck that can be applied to your face at night. It distinctly smells of lavender which aids sleep by calming you down before those hours of rest. Since using this, I have found that my face feels plumper when I wake in the morning and leaves my face feeling refreshed and supremely clean and free from fine lines and blemishes. It’s great for clearing any anti-oxidants that stay on your skin – which in my case is great for living in the city (que rant about pollution) and is great for my dry and sensitive skin. I have noticed an increased difference in my ability to sleep, not that I have ever had a problem sleeping anyway, but with this I am sleeping 8 hours straight…could this be down to this little gem?! The packaging is so slick and stands nicely on any dressing table.

Windows of the soul ‘Easy on the eye!’
Windows of the soul is a daily anti-aging treatment which sets out to cool and lift tired eyes. It reduces puffyness (bags), dark circles, and hydrates the under eye area which also reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Now, I am not going to sit here and say that this banishes all types of wrinkles. Nothing ever will, but dabbing this on my under eye area before sleep using only my ring finger, leaves me with a tingling sensation that makes my eyes feel rejuvenated. It’s lightweight, and soaks into the skin supremely well, so if you used this before putting on any make-up it would apply easily and not clog up your pores. Just make sure when applying that you don’t drag your skin!

Purification ‘A vacuum cleaner for the pores!’
Purification is a highly effective anti-blemish face mask that is designed to deep clean the skin within 20 minutes. I love nothing but the thought of using any product on my skin that is going to free me from the grime and grease that every day life plants upon my face and this nifty product does exactly that. It’s also great if you’re like me and suffer from chin area spots during hormonal changes.

As part of my new skin care routine I now use this every Sunday evening before the new week and it leaves my skin feeling cool and refreshed ready for the week ahead. It’s extremely easy to apply as Temple Spa include a nifty plastic gadget to lather the product onto your face (very clever – so you’re not using dirty fingers) and leaves your skin feeling oil-free. Once applied it starts tingling, which I can only assume means it is working and dries very quickly, BUT it is extremely easy to take off with a warm and wet dark flannel. I have recently spoken about this over on my latest YouTube channel video ‘what’s in my gym bag 2018?’ as it is a great product to use whilst de-stressing in a hot sauna, post workout. Who doesn’t wanna look like they’ve slapped a load of mud on their face?!

What do you do to take care of yourself? Will you be reaching out for Temple Spa’s products knowing that they work wonders for me and my skin?! Let me know in the comments below!
